There’s a great song by Matt Redman called “One Name Alone” that has as part of its lyrics the words la la la la la la la la la la. People sometimes think that such words (?) are nonsensical and out-of-place–particularly in a Christian song. Our worship pastor disagreed. He said that the words made him think of children happily skipping, and skipping joyfully. I have to admit that can I easily picture kids doing just that. Matthew wrote what Jesus said, I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 18:3). Little children express joy and happiness far more easily than adults. They recover from the guilt of the things they do wrong quicker and more completely. It is, however, easier to picture than to do.

I, on the other hand, pictured someone who didn’t want to hear something, sticking their hands in their ears and saying or singing la la la la la la la la la la at the top of their voice so they couldn’t hear what was being said. Since Satan comes Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil, who prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (I Peter 5:). Learn to ignore that roaring. Block it out!
It’s interesting to note that both of these thoughts center on children and how we should become like children–His children. Both Matthew and Luke noted that Jesus said to His disciples, Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children (Matthew 19:14, Luke 18:16). So when someone tells you to act your age, or to grow up and stop acting like a kid, they are not entirely correct in their judgment. As long as we acting in the joy of the Lord (which) is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10 non-italics mine), then we all will be children of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).
So, when someone tells you to grow up or to stop acting like kid, they are not always right in their judgment. Just be sure your child-like behavior is pleasing to God–not necessarily to man.

If we were really honest, we could find several ways we act like children when we know God is speaking to us and we don’t listen
